You don’t have to be a fashionista to appreciate the just-opened Dior Exhibit at the Dallas Museum of Art. It is truly a feast for the eyes.
A Break from Moving
So I went to Dallas to move my daughter out of her dorm at Southern Methodist University. When I walked into her room, I had to pull myself together because, despite the fact that her roommate had already moved out, my daughter’s room showed no signs of an impending move.
Two complete SUV loads that went to our friend Steve’s house, five large boxes that were stored by a moving company and 250 pounds of checked luggage… I felt like we had earned a break! So off to the Dallas Museum of Art we went!
Fashion at its Best
I thought it would be interesting, but I didn’t expect it to be so incredibly beautiful. And big. Arguably the most expensive and ambitious exhibit in the history of the Dallas Art Museum, this is only one of two Dior exhibits in the U.S. The first was in Denver.
Multiple Designers
It isn’t just Christian Dior you’ll see. There are multiple designers. Dior actually passed away in 1957 and a 21-year-old Yves Saint Laurent took over before establishing his own design house. Several other famous designers followed and you’ll see many of their designs in the exhibit.
Something for Everyone
Suits, dresses and evening gowns… something for everyone! The exhibit opens to the public May 19 and runs through September 1. If you’re in Dallas, go see it! You won’t regret it!
