While I’m not sure what they should be called, “beauty” products is a bit intimidating! Nevertheless, we’re always looking for the magic potion that will change our lives. We are both willing to spend money for the best results, and we’ve learned after many, many purchases, you don’t always get what you pay for. We sharing some of our favorite drugstore finds:

Facial Cleanser
We like a few cleansers. They gently clean our aging skin while not drying it out.
Serum
Serums are all the rage. From what we understand, they can penetrate deeper into the skin than other products. Regular use promises to give your skin a firmer, smoother texture as it targets things like wrinkles. If you spend more on a serum, do you get better results? To our untrained eyes, we don’t think so. Different serums are designed to do different things, so do a little research. We like both of these:
Vitamin C Serum
The regime can get pretty complicated, but I’m sucking it up and adding a vitamin C serum because it promises to slow the aging process down by stimulating collagen growth. I also find that it brightens my skin.
Eye Makeup Remover
Laura swears by this one:
Facial Moisturizer
The options are endless, and a couple that score high points for both of us include:
For the Bath
If you’re a person who loves the bathtub, here’s a suggestion from our resident expert (Laura):
Face Powder
Laura remembers seeing this on her grandmother’s vanity in the 1960s. Laura swears by it!
Body Moisturizer
Many of us find ourselves slathering on moisturizer more and more as the dryness of winter kicks in. We like a few options in particular:
Lips
Keeping your lip smooth and chapped-free requires a little effort. We think these work very well! I’m a huge fan of the original Vaseline.
Mascara
I can’t even imagine how much money goes into research, but it must be a huge number. There are mascaras that purport to lengthen, strenghten, widen… you get the idea. Here are a few of our drugstore faves:
There are so many options out there. It can be overwhelming to sift through the choices. We love it when a friend tells us about a product they love. Please share your favorites!
