I loved John Boyne’s novel All the Broken Places.
What are you looking for in your next can’t-put-it-down book? Interesting multi-layered characters? Great plot? Family drama? Glimpse into history? Pick up All the Broken Places.
The book hops between present-day London and Nazi Germany, with a few other locales and time periods in between. Yes, I know, there has been a bombardment (no pun intended) of WWII literature lately, especially female-centered books. I read many of them, and was a fan of several:
And of course the very popular, heartbreaking The Nightengale.
Frankly, I had to take a break from WWII historical fiction. And then I saw John Boyne’s All the Broken Places. I had recently finished his Ladder to the Sky, one of the best books I’ve read in a long time.
I’m not going to spoil what awaits you with a summary. Just give it a try. It will stay with you for a long time.
