I’m always on the lookout for summer lovin’ shoes! Cute, comfy and not old-lady looking are my criteria. Plus our feet get so much more exposure and visibility during the summer, so we want to put in a little effort!
Displays are Deceiving
At least for me, shoe displays are deceiving because they are always smaller than this girl’s big feet! I’m a 9/9.5 and I don’t think I’ve ever seen a display larger than a 7. This alone can foil your initial thought about a shoe, as blowing it up a few sizes can significantly reduce the cute factor! You have to see a shoe in your actual size, try it on and walk in it.

Many Price Points
I love that I don’t have to spend a fortune to find shoes that meet my criteria. There are shoes I am willing to “invest” in because I plan to wear them for a long time. However, there are other, more trendy shoes I just plan to wear for a season or so.
Some of My Favorites
Following are some of our favorite summer shoes, ranging in style and price:
I have eight pairs of FitFlops. They are that comfortable. I think it’s a stretch to say they pass the cute test, but I’ve decided to overlook that because they feel so good!
A great beach/pool flip flop, Olukai’s are well made and have some support, too!
I’ll come right and say these shoes have no support. They are comfortable though, however not for long walks. My daughters love these shoes and they hold up well.
I’m a big Miista fan. I find their shoes stylish and comfortable. Their E8 label also offers beautiful shoes at a lower price point. Comfortable, stylish and well-made, these shoes will last for many seasons.
Marc Fisher is affordable, trendy and usually comfortable. If you like a heel, the platform wedges are a great option. These have a small heel and they offer many other choices with higher heels.
Hall of Fame shoes for us, we’ve written an entire blog post on these awesome shoes. I’m on my fourth summer with the black and have since bought three other pairs. I wore these all over Barcelona and Lisbon and they proved to be up to the challenge.
Another favorite brand, I like so many of their shoes. They’re well-made, comfortable enough and you won’t see them on everyone.
Supergas are a great staple. You can wear these with dresses, skirts, pants, shorts; pretty much anything you can think of! The price point is reasonable and they’re comfortable!
Aquatalia is a luxury brand. It’s high quality, comfortable and very well made. In addition, Aquatalia’s shoes are weatherproof and stainproof. This Italian footwear designer makes beautiful shoes.
Whatever you’re wearing on your feet this summer, we wish you a great one!
